Sweet Summer Sales

Here at Yay-Today, we like to talk about stuff that doesn’t require spending a ton of money. But sometimes you have to spend a little money on the necessities of life- food, shelter and cute shoes. Errr… well, I consider shoes a necessity. That may mean I fail the frugality test, but you benefit, because I’m here today to give you the heads up on some sweet sales that will help you stock up on some summer necessities.

  • In Seattle, boots are a necessity year-round. (Was I the only person who reached for my cardigan yesterday?) That’s why you simply can’t miss the $15 Boot Sale at Ballard’s The Vintage Closet. In addition to over 400 pairs of boots on sale, they promise massive markdowns on other accessories as well. Wahoo!
  • Vintage clothing trucks are evidently the new food truck. At least that’s what the girls at The Kippy Ding Ding are banking on. This weekend they are selling their whimsical wares out of their whimsically-named truck in the Whole Foods Interbay parking lot. Go go go and get something cute!
  • Oh admit it- you know that the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale starts on July 20th, and you’re excited about it. I know I am.
  • If your style is more Sporty Spice than Posh Spice, that’s cool, because there’s a sale for you too. Gregg’s Cycles is celebrating their 80th anniversary with a giant sale- prices up to 80% off- July 19-22. Swing by their Greenlake location this weekend for raffles, food trucks and fun events for the whole family. (Also, you can identify with as many Spice Girls as you want. I won’t judge.)

So there you go- four fabulous reasons to spend your money this weekend guilt-free. Tell me where you’re doing your shopping on Facebook, Twitter or the comment section below.
