Customer Appreciation Night + Pop-Up Flower Shop at West Elm

So you know how you keep telling yourself that sticking a cardboard box (which you stole from behind a QFC) in front of your couch and calling it a coffee table is totally working in a deconstructed-shabby-chic kind of way? Well, it’s not. In fact, your whole apartment is looking kind of shabby. It is springtime, after all, and even if the sun isn’t quite shining, you can make your interior look a lot better with some help from the nice kids at West Elm, who are hosting a Customer Appreciation Night (with discounts!) tonight, April 26, from 6:00-9:00pm, and a pop-up flower shop featuring fabulous local florist Marigold and Mint on Saturday April 28, May 5 and May 12.

Easy access to gorgeous flowers is one of the major perks of living in the Pacific Northwest, so you’re basically committing treason if your house is bare of any bright blooms. The best part is that flowers don’t have to be pricey to be pretty- you just have to know how to arrange them. This is exactly why you need to check out these awesome little pop-up shops- the pros at Marigold and Mint will be showing their stuff to inspire you and teach you how to make your daffodils look designer. (Remember how I was gushing about my love for all Melrose Market businesses? Marigold and Mint is totally a member of that club.)

But if your home decor issues can’t be saved by a pretty vase, there’s hope for you too- skip happy hour and head to West Elm tonight, Thursday, April 26. Starting at 6:00pm, it’s Customer Appreciation Night. Score a 10% discount store-wide, light refreshments, demonstrations, and a raffle. My current West Elm obsession is this ghetto-chic gold flatware set. You’ll feel fancy even when you are slurping up cereal in front of the couch.
