Weekend Roundup: 4/13-4/15

The sun came out a lot this week, y’all. Did you notice? Were you excited? Also, did you know I grew up in Texas, where we rarely (if ever) celebrated sun sightings? Texas thinks I’m weird now. Seattle just thinks I fit in. This weekend is also rumored to be sunny and lovely, with highs in the low 60s, according to the generous rounding I’m doing based on what my weather app is reporting. So, as always, we’ve got your back with the weekend happenings:

-Friday evening, head to the Starbucks (Gaybucks) on Olive to hear live music from Rachel Wong.

-Punchline Friday Comedy Showcase at Jai Thai on Broadway, as per usual.

-Are you a fan of the Earth? Yeah, so am I. So why don’t you and I head down to the Arboretum for Earth Day SCA Seattle? We can enjoy the sunshine while we clean up the Arboretum and do some fun little gardening projects.

-BUNNARCHY. This is big, y’all. Thousands of bunnies (and other spring-themed costumed folk) will take to the streets of the city for the pub crawl to rival all pub crawls (except maybe Santarchy). The route will be published on the event page and updates will be sent live on Twitter. Use the hashtag #bunnarchy and have so much fun. I’ll probably see you there! Please see event page for official details and guidelines.

-If bunny crawling isn’t your thing, you can always do the Cap Hill Trivia Crawl. It’s happening Saturday afternoon.

-If you’ve got stars in your eyes, then strut your stuff on stage at Century Ballroom’s Century’s Got Talent competition.

-Meet the Cheesemaker at Murray’s Cheese at the U-Village QFC. This week’s cheesemaker is Matt Day from Mt. Townsend Creamery.

-If you’d like to support local dance, Coriolis Dance Collective and The Offshore Project are preparing for Co-LAB 4 and need your help raising funds. Join them for Ruffles and Raffles 2 on Sunday evening. For just $10 ($20 VIP), for live entertainment, music, and raffle prizes.

-Mad Men! Throw on your fave vintage 60s outfit and join the viewing party at LUC on Sunday night. Delicious classic cocktails and free snacks are right at your fingertips.

-If you want to kick off the weekend with something healthier than happy hour, take a trip to Des Moines for a Reiki Soundscape class- only $10. There will be healing and didjeridoos!

We’ve got your back, weekend-style. Enjoy the sun, take loads of pictures of the fun things you do, and share them with us in the comments, on Facebook, and Twitter. Have fun, Seattle!
