Are you guys so excited about the weekend? It’s going to be awesome. The snow is gone, the sun is supposed to shine all day Saturday, and there are so many fun things happening in Seattle. If you want to be just like me, you can celebrate my birthday by dressing as Wonder Woman! If you would prefer to do your own, non-costumed thing, I’ve still got you covered. Rock on with your weekend, Seattle.
-Last week we told you to start your weekend with free wine. This week we’re responsible adults who think you should check out the new donation-based hot yoga class at Sweat Hot Yoga. It’s perfect for beginners (aka, they go light on the heat for you). Hot yoga is the perfect way to pretox before you start your weekend imbibement. The class runs 5:30-6:45pm.
-Aubrey already told y’all about all the delicious free food happening this weekend. To recap: Samoa cookies, lamb and wine, and froyo. Let your stomach be your guide.
-Head to the Sorrento Hotel for Fellini Film Friday. FREE Fellini Film Friday. 8pm, fills up fast.
-The sun won’t be a stranger Saturday, so we have a few outdoor activities for you. First, celebrate the Lunar New Year in the ID with the Lunar New Year Food Walk. $2 tastes of cuisine from China, Japan, Vietnam, Cambodia, and beyond. 11am-8pm; download the food map here.
-I just got my very first iPhone and now I’m addicted to Instagram, obvi. If you are like me and Instagram (or other photo app) has made you believe you are a very special and talented photographer, head to Zeitgeist Coffee in Pioneer Square at 3pm on Saturday for the Be Mobile! Photowalk/Shootout. There will be challenges and prizes!
-Are you a hairy dude? Are you a lady who knows a hairy dude? Drag your burly man to the High Dive at 1pm on Sunday for the Beard and Stache Fest Contestant Picture Party. Have your picture taken and see it displayed at a select location. All pictures will raise money for Treehouse 4 Kids.
-I’m excited about this one: Faire Cafe continues Long Talking Bad Conditions Blues Reading Series. Featured this Sunday at 6pm: National Book Award Winner Charles Johnson, Stacey Levine, Nicole Hardy, Luke Johnson, and Greg Wrenn.
-Calling all Trekkies! Theater Schmeater is hosting Star Trek Trivia. $5 at the door.
-I need some picture frames and I love sales, so I’ll be heading to West Elm this weekend, where all frames are 20% off until Feb. 13th. (Also on sale- lighting. This sounds random, but good lighting can seriously pump up your bedroom confidence, especially if you’re sickeningly pale like I am this time of year.)
-Finally, Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. Luckily for us, we live in Seattle, the home of Babeland. The fine ladies of Babeland have invited Miss Indigo Blue to teach a Stripping for Your Lover Workshop on Sunday night. Tickets are $35 but the skills last a lifetime.
That’s your weekend, darlings! Let us know in the comments if we missed any must-attend events. And share your photos from the Photowalk on our Facebook and Twitter. Have a good one!
