2 responses Remember that New Year’s Resolution about only eating kale and flax seed oil for the month of January? Yeah, screw that. I don’t know what’s in the air lately, but the Yay-Today calendar is bubbling over with all kinds of delicious things to eat and drink in the next few days. Don’t fight it- resistance is futile when you’re staring in the face of free, delicious food. So embrace your inner fat kid and eat up Seattle. Here are just a few of my favorite free eats and drinks going on at a hotspot near you:
- The Deathcake is back and it’s FREE! Swing by your nearest Cupcake Royale location between 5:00 and 7:00pm today (Thursday, January 26) for a Deathcake Party. Not only can you nosh on free samples of the richest, gooiest, most chocolatey chocolate cake around, you can swig Stumptown coffee and local booze at the same time. Screw saving your appetitie for dinner- Deathcake IS dinner!
- Not only is Boka Kitchen and Bar handing out FREE cookies tomorrow, Friday Jan 27 between 11:00am and 1:00pm, they’re handing out homemade versions of my favorite Girl Scout creation- the Samoa. Take a walk and grab a carmelly, coconutty piece of happiness.
- Menchies is opening another self-serve froyo palace in West Seattle on Saturday, Jan 28 and they’re giving away FREE froyo to celebrate! Jaunt over to Admiral Way for your FREE froyo between 11:00am and 1:00pm.
- Since you ate dessert all weekend, change things up and end with something savory on Sunday. Dish it Up in Ballard is hosting a FREE Lamb Cooking Demo and Wine Tasting on Sunday, January 29. Chefs from La Bete and The Skillet Diner (yum and yum) will be teaching you how to make perfect meatballs and wintery lamb stew starting at 12:00pm, with wine and samples starting at 1:00pm. It’s the perfect post-farmers-market snack.
