Breathe a sigh of relief, friends. The weekend has arrived. You’ve slogged through your week, survived, and now you can pour yourself a glass of wine, wrap yourself in a gigantic sweater and lose yourself in that stack of books you’ve been meaning to read. Wait, what? You want to actually leave the house and go do fun things all over Seattle? Have you seen the forecast? It’s going to be freezing, y’all. People are whispering about snow. This is a weekend for pantsless Netflix marathons, not galavanting around the city.
Seattle agrees with me, I think. It’s a quieter weekend, event-wise. However, if you insist on being a hero, there are a few fun things to consider for your weekend. Hit it.
-In the coveted tradition of the gals at Yay-Today, start your weekend with a glass (or six) of wine.
-Four words: LESBRO vs. THE 80′s. If you want to dance, The Wildrose has you covered. $5 cover and (this is a direct quote), “CHEAP ASS DRINK SPECIALS!!” What’s not to love?
-If you’re like me, you’ve been saving old electronics and computer pieces in a box because you have no idea how to recycle them. Fear not! Head to Ballard on Saturday morning and let those guys deal with it.
-Congratulate yourself for recycling with another wine tasting. Because I mean really.
-It might snow anyway, so live it up and head to Leavenworth for the Bavarian Ice Festival. Smoosh!
-Finally, if you are really insane, go to Cal Anderson on Sunday afternoon for touch football. I have no idea why you would. Honestly.
That’s it, kids. Your weekend in a very tiny nutshell. Did we miss something? Let us know in the comments. And if you do leave your house to do any of these fun things, wear a coat and gloves. Because otherwise your arms might fall off from frostbite. If that does happen though, be sure to tell us on Facebook and Twitter so we can do the I-Told-You-So-Dance.
Stay safe and warm!
