I know we already talked about Chino’s once this week. Well, take today’s post as further evidence for the fact that you need more fruity drinks and delicious pork buns in your life, because we have another super-amazing opportunity for you eat good food and drink good drinks at our favorite Mexican-Taiwanese Tiki Bar. You already know about Tiki Tuesday, but today I’m here to tell you about a special event happening on Tuesday, January 17th. From 5:00-7:00pm, Foodspotting, home of the very best food pRon on the internet, is celebrating their 2nd anniversary by taking over Chino’s. You’re invited, and you really should go, because they’ll be serving all kinds of freebies and cheapies that should not be missed.
Head to the hill on Tuesday to hang with the Foodspotting peeps and get a chance to try the ridiculously yummy Gua Bao (steamed pork buns) AND a house-made Mai Tai for just $5! (Hey, I saw you roll your eyes just now. This isn’t your crappy Waikiki-hotel-luau mai tai people- this is a Seattle-approved cocktail made by a big-name mixologist using fresh-squeezed citrus and pineapple juices and house-made falernum and orgeat. I don’t know what falernum or orgeat are, but that probably means that they are really good.) You can also snack on FREE house-made furikake kettlecorn and delicious 5-spice boiled peanuts while you mix and mingle with fellow food-obsessives. Chances are that you’ll be able to pick up some sweet tips on how to take better pictures with your camera-phone, since this is a Foodspotting event. And let’s be honest, that’s mostly what you use said camera-phone for anyway.
So go RSVP now for Foodspotting’s 2nd Anniversary Party at Chino’s. Eat, drink and be merry. And if you know what falernum and orgeat are, please drop us a line on Facebook, Twitter or in the comment section below, because I’m too lazy to google them.
Hey!
Thanks for another great mention! You guys are great!
Orgeat = almond syrup (not the same as the high fructose corn syrup coffee flavoring syrup).
Falernum = spiced syrup with an alcohol base (usually brandy or vodka).

Thanks! I feel so smart now
Also, I’m totally craving a mai tai.
