520 gets a Happy Hour: Beach Café in Kirkland

Has anyone else been watching how shittastic the traffic has been on the news ever since this toll nonsense started? What a mess. I feel so bad for all those Microsofters out there that have to deal with this from here on out. But luckily there’s some relief – and in typical Yay-Today fashion the relief comes with drinks. Meet Beach Café.

Wow, right? Well, let me first say that I haven’t been to the Beach Café, but from some of the reviews I’ve read I may have to give it a go for the views alone. Apparently the food isn’t too shabby either. People rave about the Sweet Potato Hummus (yum), Grilled Artichoke, the Northwest Cioppino and for dessert, indulge on the Chili Chocolate Bread Pudding (drool).

But I know what you’re thinking. Views come with a price, right? Well, get your head out of the Canlis gutter. Because the Beach Café in Kirkland is having a very Happy Hour to relieve some stress associated with the new 520 toll.

Just go on in every day from 4-6pm and/or 9pm-close for two tasty drink specials that will be offered at the ironically clever price of $5.20 a pop.

Drink number 1 is The Good to Go Cosmo. Freshly muddled basil and lime with Veev, Acai Superfruit Spirit, Pama Pomegranate Liqueur and Absolut Mandarian. All of it is shaken, stirred and served up in a pretty little chilled martini glass. Perfect for when you want to relive the days when you loved Sex and the City.

Drink number 2 is the Bumper to Bumper Special. Simply pick your fave draft from Mac & Jack’s to the rotating local IPA and enjoy a freshly made pretzel served with a side of the chef’s delicious signature cheese sauce. Oh man, I want this right now – at work, at 9am. Is that bad?

So whether you just need a break from traffic or need to relax after a day back at work, go try out Beach Café and let us know what you think.
