View & Chew: FREE Movies at Century Ballroom

Helloooooo 2012! Why, you’ve only been around one day and I’m already starting to like you. Not only did you greet me with only the most mild of hangovers and some unseasonably warm weather, you also alerted me to the fact that Century Ballroom is busting open their doors for some fantabulous freeness yet again with a new series of FREE movies called View and Chew. Woo-hoo!

Proving once again that it’s one of the coolest places in Seattle even if you don’t actually dance, Century Ballroom is gaining big points with us with their new Sunday night line-up. View and Chew happens on the second and fourth Sunday of each month and shows a classic movie (seriously, I’m loving the line-up) for absolutely no cost. Doors open at 7:30pm and movies start at 8:00pm, and you can order food and drinks from The Tin Table (yum) if you’re feeling hungry.  (I’d much rather spend $6 on Sweet Potato Tots than $13 on a movie at the megaplex.) Oh, and did I mention that you can have a cocktail while you watch?

So what movies are actually playing? They just released the line-up and it looks pretty sweet. The fact that they are kicking things off with my very favorite movie of all time ever may make me a little biased though.

  • Sunday, January 8: The Princess Bride
  • Sunday, January 22: The Big Lebowski
  • Sunday, February 12: Strictly Ballroom
  • Sunday, February 26: The Rocky Horros Picture Show (with live stage show!)

So now we know what you and I are doing every other Sunday for the next two months. Now to fill up the other 6 days of the week. Keep reading Yay-Today to find out what else is going on. Have a hot tip? Tell us on Facebook, Twitter or the comments section below.
