Congratulations, y’all. You made it through the holiday season. The presents have been given, the meals have been made, the dishes are done, and you can finally collapse on the floor, unbutton the top button of your jeans, and veg out.
But WAIT! Don’t fall asleep for too long, guys. Tomorrow is New Year’s Eve! You have places to go! Champagne to drink! Strangers to make out with at midnight! Take a disco nap then put on your sparkliest sparkles and hit the streets of our fair Seattle to ring in 2012 in style. Not sure which parties deserve your presence? Not to worry. The lovely gals at Yay-Today have you covered. With our NYE Guide 2011, you are sure to find the perfect party. (Unless you’d rather spend the evening sitting on a rock, which is okay too. We recommend the rocks at Discovery Park.)

- First up is the largest New Year’s party in Seattle: Resolution 2012 at the WAMU Theater. Over 15 DJs, two huge parties, and thousands of people promise to make this party the biggest on our list. Gold/White attire encouraged. Tickets begin at $55.
- If your budget cringes at $55 tickets, head over to Chop Suey for No Year’s Eve. Featuring Metal Chocolates, Katie Kate, and OC Notes, this night of dancing and great beats will cost you only $5 a person. (21+)
- So iconically Seattle- spend New Year’s Eve at Seattle Center. The Rhythm Nation is throwing a party- go! Or just embrace your inner cheapskate and hang out where you can see the fireworks at midnight for FREE.
- Our friends at Century Ballroom are throwing a huge New Year’s bash. Come early for a fancy, seated dinner or show up late for three rooms of dancing. Tickets start at $20. New Year’s Eve at Century Ballroom.
- The Clever Bottle in Belltown is throwing a retro 50′s themed bash to welcome in 2012. Don your poodle skirt and stick around for the FREE champagne toast at midnight!
- Looking for the best queer scene in Seattle? Noddy at the Eagle wants you! Cover is only $7; come hear Noddy, Ramona the Band, and others. Bonus: $3 jello shots and a champagne toast.
- One of my favorite events for NYE: Xtreme Theatresports NYE Party at Unexpected Productions. Head to the Intiman Playhouse for awesome improv, cheap drinks, and tons of fun. (Tickets $28 online, $40 at the door.)
- Want to ring in the new year and support a good cause? Head to Siren Tavern for the Abnormal Formal and raise money for Burners without Borders. Drinks, dessert, and dancing; what could be more fun? (21+, $30 presale)
- The Indulgence NYE Bash at EMP is five parties in one. Come for the dancing, stay for the fireworks at the Space Needle, and then keep dancing until the sun comes up. (21+. Tickets start at $69.)
- Finally, if you want to keep the New Year’s party going, head over to the Electric Tea Garden for The Breakfast Club 2012. This all day event starts at 6am and allows you to stay and dance all day. (21+. Tickets $10.)
- Ooh- love this. Capitol Hill Seattle blog has a great round-up of CHEAP and FREE events in their hood. Nice.
- Even better- Seattle Weekly just published a list of FREE champagne tastings all over the city.
- Staying in? Then I suggest loading up on a 2 pound bucket of wings from Whole Foods Westlake. One lucky winner this weekend will find a Golden Ticket in their bucket o’meat good for a $20 gift certificate. That will start 2012 out on a positive note!
That’s it, Seattle — your NYE. Did we miss a party? Let us know in the comments. Wherever and however you decide to ring in 2012, we hope you have a safe and happy New Year’s Eve. We are thankful for all of you who make up the Yay-Today community and we look forward to another year of bringing you the best of Seattle. Don’t forget to eat your black-eyed peas on Sunday for luck throughout 2012!
Happy New Year!
