Weekend Round-Up: December 16-18

I know you don’t care, but I’m super excited that this weekend is GUNS AND FRICKIN’ ROSES WEEKEND. Yep, we actually spent big money to see my childhood crush rock it in Vancouver (a slight mistake on my part, when I purchased tickets for the BC showing, not realizing they are coming to Seattle the day before – alas, my GNR concert is now a field trip to BC, which I think is a win win – for the soup dumplings alone). But since I want the rest of you to save money, here’s what’s happening this weekend:

-Just added! Ballard has a new Lebanese restaurant called Cafe Munir, and they’re giving out FREE food today (Friday, 12/16) from 3:00-6:00pm. If you’ve never had Lebanese food, you’re missing out. Go eat some lebneh for me!

-New! Want even more FREE food? Head to Melrose Market on Saturday between 2:00-6:00pm for a “Bite of Melrose Market.” It’s sample-palooza folks- FREE Hotlips soda from Homegrown, cheese from Calf & Kid, ham from Rainshadow Meats, jam from Marigold & Mint and bread from Sitka and Spruce. Go, sample, love.

-The Russian Community Center is hosting the 4th Annual Holiday Art Fair for all your handmade gift giving needs.

-I might actually have to take part in the Vancouver’s Santarchy since I’ll surely miss Seattle’s version that takes place this Saturday.

-I’ve never been to Couth Buzzard Books Espresso Buono Café (say that three times fast), but with free French Gypsy music for free on Friday and a vinyl disc sharing (free) event with rock trivia on Saturday, I may have to make a trip to Greenwood one of these days.

-Looks like 4 is the magic number this weekend, what with another 4th annual event. This time it’s the Bizarre Bazaar at the Erickson Theater on Saturday.

-And in case you haven’t been to Winterfest yet, head to Fisher Pavilion to witness ice sculpting on Saturday or spend Sunday at the Seattle Center Foundation sharing the spirit of the holidays giving back with a Sharing Gift Box.

From the Yay-Today gang, we hope you have a relaxing weekend. Head to Facebook to be our very best friend, go to Twitter to follow the everyday happenings or leave us a comment below and say something nice. See you guys on Monday!
