Tres Thursday

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, the holidays are officially upon us and there’s just so much to do. Actually, for me there isn’t. I don’t really participate in all the shopping hoopla. I leave that to Miss Aubrey ;-) Instead, I like to do puzzles, drink too much hot cocoa at Aster’s and listen to as much bad/good holiday music as possible. Yep, I’m 80 trapped inside a 32-year-old’s body. Any day now I’ll be dying my hair blue.

I’m excited that during these colder months, Seattle knows how to pack things in so that you do eventually go outside every now and then. And since I couldn’t pick just one fun thing, I’m giving you a few and then I’ll give you even more tomorrow – because I’m nice like that.

-Have you heard of KIXI? Probably not, because you’re listening to something cool like KEXP. But let me tell you, KIXI is the shit. Do you like old timey radio with actual storytime tales? Do you like AM radio? (err, I’m not really selling this am I – but seriously, try out KIXI – you’ll feel like you want to gather around the dusty radio machine with your whole family and listen to Sherlock Holmes mystery hour or Imagination Theater or just music to clean the clothes on your washboard with) Well, after going to a KIXI event I’m a total fan and liked them on Facebook. By doing so, I learned that they give lots of awesome stuff away all the time. This week, they’re doing a PNB Nutcracker giveaway AND from now until Christmas they’re giving away stocking stuffers! Seriously guys, I love KIXI!!

-Never been to Your Local Market (and uhhh, the reviews on Yelp aren’t too promising) but all that aside I kinda love their idea of giving 10% of their sales tonight to the Bellevue Boys & Girls Club. Plus, with live music, door prizes and samples of food and booze this Community Thursday event seems like a blast.

-Even if you’re a Scrooge you gotta love a good Tree Lighting event. This year, head on down to the Pan Pacific at 5:30pm for some hot toddy’s, emcee stylings of Jenni Hogan and if you’re a Facebook fan then RSVP right now for a chance to win an overnight stay at the Pan Pacific with breaking and parking (they have a pool, ya’ll)!

And boom, just like that I filled your Thursday right up. Enjoy and stay warm.

Ok, it turns out I like KIXI too! I guess that makes sense because I too am 80 on the inside. Thanks for the suggestion!
