Weekend Handmade: A book, a craft and Dry Soda

I feel totally lazy compared to people like Kelly Wilkinson. She’s like the J. Lo of nerds. She’s a reporter and anchor for San Fran’s NPR. She writes a craft column for The Washington Post. She’s created projects for Sunset, Country Living, Design*Sponge and Apartment Therapy. She has a blog, Make Grow Gather. AND she most recently created Weekend Handmade – her first craft book that includes more than 40 projects for the inspired crafter.

Wow, just writing all that makes me feel like I need to up my game a little. Either way, Weekend Handmade is already starting to get rave reviews and now you have a chance to meet the busy lady behind it all.

Just register for free tickets at EventBrite and you’ll get to talk crafts with Wilkinson, see a craft demo and drink enough Dry Soda to make your belly pop. Books will be there to oogle at and buy. And heck, if you just need an excuse to do something fun on a rainy Thursday (it’s happening :-( – or so “they” say) what better way to spend your evening than with a woman who seems to know how to do it all?
