I know, we’re all a little suspicious of the seemingly never-ending avalanche of daily deal sites. Even with bad press about Groupon’s looming delayed IPO, I feel like I hear about another new player almost every day. Some people love them- I have friends who plan their weekend activities around what’s being offered on these sites. (These folks tend to spend a lot of time eating out and having laser hair removal done at various day spas, and honestly, I can’t judge them for those hobbies.) Other people have gotten burned by fine print they didn’t read and sworn off the daily deal forever. But love ‘em or hate ‘em, there’s a new player in town, and they’re trying to make friends with Seattle by offering a whole bunch of FREE food at some of the best places to eat in University District. Welcome, Munch on Me!
Munch on Me has a lot of press about how it’s totally different from other daily deal sites. They only focus on food, they give you deals on individual menu items instead of just gift certificates, and they are generally kinder, gentler, and are huge proponents of puppies and unicorns. Really, the best thing that I can say about them is that if you go check out their site, you can get a FREE pupusa from Guanaco’s Tacos Pupuseria. (If you don’t know what a pupusa is, go eat one now. Preferably with a coupon for a FREE pupusa in your hand.) I went and got the coupon myself to test it out, and the process was completely painless. Sure, my inbox is cluttered with another daily email, but that’s what sort is for. (By the way, if you don’t use sort to deal with your mail, read this post about why it’s the best thing ever.) Also, I get a FREE pupusa.
If the pupusa isn’t enough for you, here’s a complete list of the other sweet offers Munch On Me is offering right now:
Um, delicious, right? So go print these out and eat some free grub this weekend. Then let us know if the offer was as easy to redeem as they say it is. If it all works out, the promise of finding 2-10 new FREE and cheap food deals every week sounds pretty darn fantastic.
