Consumer’s Conflict: Not exactly cheap, but worth a read

Okay, I’ll be the first to admit that with a $20 admission fee, you best have something good to say and it better include food in that price. Luckily, the people behind The Consumer’s Conflict cater to people just like me.

So if you didn’t take Aubrey’s advice last week I’m gonna hammer it in your head once again because this will be worth it. Go to The Center for Urban Horticulture at UDub tonight, pay your friggin’ $20 and listen to Barry Estabrook (James Beard award-winner, for the foodies out there) talk about produce issues, complex issues and environment issues. Issues will be discussed, that is for sure. And if that’s not enough Barry won’t be alone. He’ll be accompanied by a panel of farmers like Jeff Miller, retauranteurs like Lisa Nakamura and big-time retailers like the Global VP of Procurement-Perishables for Whole Foods.

Beyond the chit-chat about all things organic, you’ll also be able to ask questions, get answers and wait for it – eat apps and drink the drink! Plus, your 20 bones comes complete with a charitable donation to the American Farmland Trust, so you’ll feel all warm and fuzzy when you eat that little square of organic gouda.

Go and let us know how it went. Tickets are available right here.
