Shopping is awesome. Paying full price is not. Thankfully, I’m pretty fantastic at navigating sales of all kinds- invite me to tag along on your next shopping trip if you want to see land-speed records get broken over by the sale racks. It’s this passion for efficiency and discounts that has me so excited about University Village’s Fashion’s Night Out on Thursday, September 8. (So excited that I’m posting this guide almost two weeks in advance. I want to make sure yay-today readers have plenty of time to strategize their shopping.) Fashion’s Night Out promises to be a whole day full of sales, giveaways, freebies and special previews that will get even the most shopping-averse among you looking forward to updating your wardrobe, and it’s all taking place at my favorite shopping destination in Seattle. (Not only do I love their stores, but the fact that it’s outdoors goes a long way to keep mall-fatigue away. Here’s the lowdown on what I’m looking forward to most:
- First off, you can win a $500 gift card before the event even starts. Follow @UVillage on twitter and tweet “I want to win a $50 @uvillage gift card for #UVFNO http://twtvite.com/uvfno.” You can enter once a day until the contest ends on Monday, September 5.
- Cole Haan makes heels that are so comfortable that I can walk up the Counterbalance in them. Unfortunately, they’re also pretty pricey. But during Fashion Night Out you can enter to win a FREE pair of shoes from Cole Haan every month for a year!
- Free People is offering 20% off any purchase in the store. That means I can feel 20% less guilty when I buy this dress I’ve been lusting after for weeks.
- H&M is giving you $10 off every purchase of $50 or more. That translates into roughly 2.5 silly headbands that I can add to my collection.
- Red Mango is knocking 20% off their delicious frozen yogurt. So get some. (And make sure you get it with mochi on top, because mochi is the best part of yogurt.)
- I’ll definitely be stopping into Swink Style Bar for some FREE champagne, a FREE makeup consultation and to enter for a chance to win free eyelash extensions. Because your eyelashes can never be too long or too dark.
- Not free, but Anthropologie is hosting a trunk show previewing new fall fashions. You won’t save any money, but drooling over some cute new jackets and boots will make the end of summer a little less traumatic.
- Need to make some room in your closet for all your new purchases? University Village is hosting a children’s coat drive. Drop off a new or gently used children’s jacket and you’ll be entered to win a $500 Shopping Spree!
