Weekend Round-Up: August 19-21

What? What? It’s Friday already? I have no idea how that happened so fast, but I’ll take it – with a nice glass of some cheapo wine straight out of a box. So enough of this chit chat. Let’s get to the weekend plans.

-Yom yom yom free sweet potato or regular fries (with any purchase) at The Counter on Friday only!

-Capitol Hill is hosting the last of its Three Dollar Bill Cinema movie at Cal Anderson Park, with the classic (and soon to be effin’ released as a horrible remake) – Footloose!

-Some seven words are too dirty to say, but I can fully enjoy screaming these on top of my lungs: FREE PRETZEL DOGS MADE WITH WAYGU BEEF!

-KEXP keeps on keepin’ on with their free Concert at the Mural. Today’s performances: Black Mountain, My Goodness and Whalebones

-The Bushwick Book Club is now in Ballard!! Tomorrow’s original music inspired by the very awesome book, The Outsiders, is just $10 and I can tell you from first hand experience that it’s well worth the dollars. Oh man, if I wasn’t going to another event I would be here in a heartbeat.

-And speaking of the event I will be attending, Ignite is an interesting round up of speakers who only have 5 minutes to say and show whatever they want, with just 20 slides that rotate every 15 seconds. Geeks everywhere should love this free outdoor event that takes place in the Center of the Universe (of course).

-Okay, there’s officially too much awesome shit to do. Including this parade and art in the street event in Rainier Valley.

-Bring a can of food and eat some yummy ice cream. Scoopfest at Full Tilt is giving kids free ice cream, adults get scoops for just $2 and free music will be blasting in the parking lot – all to raise some money and awareness for Rainier Valley Food Bank.

-With bands like Tit Pig and Glory Hole, why wouldn’t you want to go to Linda’s Fest on Saturday? Plus it’s free! (I especially love how the band, Black Breath, described themselves at “Think Fleet Foxes, Head and the Heart and Band of Horses…WITH A FUCKING NEGATIVE SIGN IN FRONT OF THEM!)

-And one of these Saturdays I have to go to the Indoor Flea Market at Century Ballroom. I’ve seen pics of what they have to offer and the stuff looks super cute, even for a non-shopper like me.

Holy weekend batman, there’s so much more stuff like Othello Park International Music & Art Festival, free music at Cairo’s 1st Annual Vibrations Festival and free yoga in the park that I’m sure you’ll all be busy from now till Sunday. Tell us what you’re doing, where you’re going and if there’s even more to do. Comment, follow us, like us, weeee!
