Okay, you all know how great Easy Street is. So I shouldn’t have to tell you that they always seem to get the greatest bands to perform for free in their stores. And these bands don’t just come, say hi and play one song (unlike a certain nameless Ballard record store/band that I was super disappointed in). These bands always seem to put on an actual show. And thanks to my handy dandy weekly newsletter from the record gods, I’m always informed about who’s coming when – plus, ticket giveaways abound. It’s like a music lovers wet dream. So sign up, go to Easy Street Records this week and dance amongst the aisles of cds. Here’s what August looks like:
-August 2nd (TODAY) Queen Anne at 7pm – Fruit Bats perform/celebrate their latest and greatest, Tripper. Plus, super awesome bonus – Wider Brothers will be providing free drinks. Ummm, yes!
-August 3rd (Wednesday) West Seattle at 6pm – Those Darlins perform from their Screws Get Loose album. Be prepared to shake your booty.
-Win tickets to the Jesse Sykes & the Sweet Hereafter for their August 4th show at Showbox Market.
-And if you don’t happen to win free tickets to the Jesse Sykes show, then don’t fret. They’ll be playing for free at the Queen Anne store on August 21st at 3pm.
-Or try your hand at snagging free tickets to the Dntel show (otherwise known as the very awesome Postal Service).
Okay, it’s too sunny outside. I’m done. You’re done. Go and enjoy the sun – for free!
