People, July is almost over. Don’t worry- that really just means that summer is just about to start. Everybody knows that August is when we get the best weather. The yay-today team is spending this weekend across the border in Whistler, BC, but there is plenty for you to do down here in Seattle. Here are our favorite weekend events:

- We already showed some love to the kind folks at Seattle Art Museum this week when we urged you to go Olympic Sculpture Park on Thursday, but they’ve got even more good times planned for the weekend. This Friday, head to Volunteer Park to watch a FREE Bollywood movie, Chandi Bar. Spontaneous singing and dancing may occur.
- There’s a little party going this weekend on called the Capitol Hill Block Party. You might have heard about it. Some cool bands are playing, or something. You should go.
- If you like to eat as much as you like to dance, you should plan on taking advantage of some the crazy discounts that local restaurants and bars are offering in honor of that whole concert thing. Dinner at Lark for $28? Yes please!
- Oooh, looks like there might be room for you to get in on the One Pot Midnight Supper as well. Go hang out at the Off the Rez facebook page for some info.
- On Sunday, Pike Place Market is hosting their annual Fruit Festival. Pie eating contests, Zucchini Races and a cooking competition? Go show the market some love!
- People have been raving about Mad Homes, a temporary art exhibition taking place in a series of soon-t0-be-demolished houses in North Capitol Hill. The wrecking ball will end it all on August 7th, so go check it out this weekend!
Look, the sun is out! Or at least it is while I’m typing this. So go play, dance, eat and take pictures of all the fun stuff happening this weekend. And on Monday, post that stuff on our facebook page or tell us what you did on twitter. We’d love to talk to you!
