Okay, I take that back. Seattle Square does have art, vendors, food trucks and music – so technically speaking it is like every other Seattle festival. But here’s the difference, this little street fair is totally empty! I might be showing my age here, but I’m done with the overcrowded Seafood Festival, Block Party, Fremont Fair thing. If I don’t ever see a Shiskaberry stand again I’ll be a very happy lady.
So last week, on the way to a crappy Mariners game we stopped on over to Seattle Square to see what was happening. The food truck had no line! We could actually talk to the artists selling stuff I haven’t seen before (if you want beautiful brooches, pray the brooch lady is still there) and I was so enchanted by some very perty illustrations that I took Stasia B‘s business card for later use. We were among maybe 20 other people meandering around and it was just lovely. Okay, maybe not so much for the vendors who thrive on big crowds, but for me – I wanted to sit there, see the amazing knitted trees and just enjoy everything that is Seattle Square.
Every week there will be new music and great additions to possibly create more buzz. They’re even jumping on the summer fitness bandwagon by hosting a free boot camp session. Seriously – why aren’t people going to this?!
Well, if do decide to go, I’d love to hear about it. Head to Seattle Square after work today, from 4-9pm or any other Thursday from now until the end of September.
Hi Aubrey !
Your Dad sent me a blog about the booties from Nordstroms. Love the piece of bra shopping,,,have tears still from laughing! I like the booties alot. Hope they are a good brand.
My daughter, Michele, and her family bought a home in Beacon Hill in Nov. 2009 after the birth of twin boys. The condo in Queen Ann was too small. We met after the 1st baby was born in Sept 2007. Amazing how much time has passed.
Hope all is well.
Linda
