Dinette has been a popular Capitol Hill dining destination for a long time- it’s a small, intimate space with good drinks and an extensive menu that dedicates an entire category to their delicious, topping-laden toasts. But dinner at Dinette doesn’t come cheap, so I don’t get to devour a plate full of toasty goodness nearly as often as I’d like. Their brand new lunch service though features a rotating roster of delicious-sounding sandwiches for under $10, which means that I won’t run short of carby goodness any time in the near future.
Everybody loves a sandwich, even the humble PB&J you make yourself. But the sandwiches that Dinette is pumping out sound almost ethereal- Truffled Egg Salad, Ginger Chicken Pate… yum. The fact that they serve it up on bread from Columbia City Bakery makes it even better (not to mention even more of a deal). If you’re on the hill and feel a hunger pain coming on, get thee to Dinette between 11:30 and 2:30 pm for a truly elevated lunch experience. And if you’ve beat us to the punch and already tried one of their sandwiches, tell us all about what we’re missing. Though I suspect that I’ll remedy that situation fairly quickly.
