Weekend Round-Up: 4/22-4/24

The good news: the weather widget on my phone claims that it may hit 66 degrees on Saturday. The bad news: it’s rainy and cold again by Monday.  Don’t waste your chance to pretend it’s spring, and do something awesome this weekend, like this:

  • The World Rhythm Festival brings over 100 performers to Seattle Center this weekend, and admission is FREE! Go ask for more good weather in the middle of a drum circle, and don’t forget your twirlin’ scarves!
  • It’s Earth Day on Friday! Suck it up and go to Starbucks, where they’re giving away FREE coffee to anybody who brings a resusable mug.
  • I’m a sucker for samples and I’m sweet on honey. (Also, I love puns before coffee.) Pass by Pacific Place on Friday from 3:30 – 8:00 pm today for FREE samples of local Honey Hole honey.
  • If you must spend time indoors, check out the Do Something Reel Film Festival at Central Cinemas this weekend. Friday through Monday they’re showing six films about people making a difference in the world and changing our food system and environment.
  • Head to the Fremont Sunday Market on Sunday for a chance to win FREE VIP tickets to the National Film Festival for Talented Youth. And while you’re there, get some sticky rice with coconut ice cream at Sugarice, a Thai food stand. (Remember, Sunday is Easter, so your regular brunch is going to be packed.)
  • Um, this looks awesome: Head to Fremont Brewing Company on Saturday at 4:00 pm for An Evening of Drinking and Coloring. Because we all love crayons and beer.
