5 Courses, $10, Lots of Love: Humble Feast Dinners

While I constantly sing the praises of a great deal on food, that doesn’t mean that I get excited over all cheap eats- unless I’m on a road trip in dire circumstances, there’s nothing on Taco Bell’s menu that will lure me in (even these mutant Dorito taco shell monstrosities). I will happily spend money on food made or raised with love. When these loves come together and I find a great deal on good food, I do a little dance in my chair. Humble Feast Dinners at the Patty Pan Grill definitely elicited one of these dances.

On the last Monday of each month, Patty Pan Grill hosts a Humble Feast Dinner Buffet for just $10 per person (or $10 if you prepay) at their Madison Valley cafe. That includes 5 courses of seasonal, local and sustainable food, with options for both omnivores and vegans alike. The menu for April 26 includes Cabbage stuffed with Beef and Lentils (or just lentils), Spring Salad, Leek and Farro Pilaf, Roasted Baby Carrots with Thyme and an Apple Cherry Compote with Hazlenuts for dessert. And if you’ve ever been to a farmer’s market anywhere in Seattle, you’ve probably had a taste of the delicious, fresh food that Patty Pan Grill serves up at their market stands, so you know how delicious this stuff will be. (Even my gordita-loving husband makes a beeline for their delicious, veggie-loaded quesadillas when we walk past their booth at the Ballard Farmer’s Market).

So feed your belly with GOOD food, feed your soul with people who love what they do, and feed your savings account with an affordable night out. There are two seatings (6:00 pm and 7:30 pm). Just remember to make reservations online or by calling (206)323-0500.
