Tonight, schedule some time to do some local shopping at one of my favorite neighborhood hangouts- Queen Anne Books. Not only will you get fantastic service and possibly discover a great new-to-you bookstore, if you go tonight you can meet local celebrity chef Ethan Stowell (the genius behind How to Cook a Wolf, Anchovies and Olives, Staple and Fancy Mercantile and Travolata), buy his fantastic new cookbook, get it signed, and eat some really yummy snacks from the chef himself for FREE!
So go out and shop local tonight. Remember, when you frequent local independent bookshops, you ensure that you have a cozy place to hang out on a rainy day (and that’s something we really need in Seattle).
Starting at 6:30 pm, Ethan will be there to talk about his new book and share cooking tips. How often do you get the chance to chat with a chef of this caliber? (And no, I don’t care how awesome of a cook your grandma is, she doesn’t count.) This book is the perfect gift if you’re trying to make your nearest and dearest make you better food.
