Hide & Seek: Canlis Offers Dinner at 1950s Prices

Canlis is consistently rated as one of the top dining experiences in the nation.  But it certainly isn’t a place that most yay-today readers can afford to frequent- a dinner for two with wine can easily cost as much as a reasonable car payment.  But to celebrate their upcoming 60th birthday, Canlis is doing the time warp dance and giving some lucky winners the chance off of their original menu, with original, 1950s prices (that means that 2 people can eat for $10 easy).  The only catch is you have to be willing to play their game, literally.

From now until their actual birthday, December 11th, Canlis is hiding one of their original menus somewhere in the city every day (except Sundays).  You just need to follow their twitter feed (@canlis), read their daily clue, and find the menu.  For example, the first clue was “Squash a beetle in your hand.”  The winner found the menu hidden behind the hand of the Fremont Troll (which contains a VW Beetle).

So, armed with your logic and a bit of luck, you could get a pretty amazing meal for a REALLY amazing price.  As in, $4 for a whole lobster or Filet Mignon for $4.25- see the menu here.  So get your butt on twitter and play hide and seek.

And while you’re following @canlis on twitter, follow us too @yay_today!  We share even MORE bonus freebies, deals and events for our awesome twitter followers- don’t miss out!
