Free Recipes and Our Very First Giveaway: We <3 Bustle

With the overwhelming selection of coffee shops in Seattle, it should be hard to pick a favorite café.  But trust me, once you check out Bustle, you’ll pretty much want to move in.   Rather than bothering with a formal menu, they will make you just about any espresso-based drink you can imagine- just walk in, tell whichever amazing barista you encounter what you need (in my case it’s a triple Americano, over ice if it’s about 60 degrees outside, with half a stevia packet) and voila!  You’ve got liquid salvation in a cup.

Bustle also serves some fantastic pastries, sandwiches and salads from Molly’s Salads, and a great selection of beer and wine after 5:00 pm.  They also feature a rotating menu of special coffee drinks made with homemade flavor syrups.  Right now they’re slingin’ Crème Brulee, Spanish Mocha and French Lavender, just to name a few.

The best part of Bustle though is the staff.  In fact, Patrick, the owner, is SO wonderful that he’s offered to share a recipe for some of that amazing syrup (it’s not only great for fancy coffee drinks you make at home, but also super yummy over ice cream or fruit!). AND if that wasn’t exciting enough for you, Bustle is also sponsoring the very first yay-today exclusive giveaway ever!  If you would like to win a FREE $20 gift certificate to Bustle, simply go to our Facebook page, “like” us (if you haven’t already), and answer today’s question.  Then tell your friends to “like” your comment.  Whoever has the most likes to their comment by Thursday at 8:00 am WINS!*

So go to our Facebook page now!  And then get some lavender and make this amazing syrup:

Lavender Syrup

2 cups organic raw sugar
2 cups water
2 tbls. food grade dried lavender flowers

Combine ingredients and place on stove, in a sauce pan, over medium heat.  Heat until sugar is completely dissolved and strain out lavender immediately.

Mulling Over Autumn Syrup

2 cups organic raw sugar
2 cups water
2 tbls. Mulling Spices

Combine ingredients and place on stove, in a sauce pan, over medium heat.  Heat until sugar is completely dissolved.  Remove from heat. Let mulling spices seep in syrup until desired level of spice is reached.

*In case of a tie, we’ll assign the most popular posts numbers and pick randomly.  (But don’t let that happen- spread the word!)  Good luck!
