The Melrose Building in Capitol Hill has rapidly become the epicenter of Capitol Hill (which is arguably the epicenter of Seattle). The building, which is home to eateries like Homegrown Sustainable Sandwich Shop and Sitka and Spruce; gourmet food vendors like Calf and Kid, Marigold & Mint and Rainshadow Meats; and shopping destinations like Sonic Boom Records and Velouria, has already been written up in the New York Times. Now they’re inviting the entire community over to celebrate their success with the Melrose Market Street Festival this Sunday, September 12.
From 10:00 am – 8:00 pm, the Festival will show off everything the Melrose Building has to offer. Grab some BBQ from famed local chef Matt Dillon, have a drink in the Beer Garden (proceeds benefit Seattle Tilth), watch a fashion show hosted by Velouria, and have an ice cream sandwich from Molly Moon’s Ice Cream Truck while you listen to free performances by bands including Head Like a Kite, Ghost of Kyle Bradford and New Roman Times. I can’t think of a better way to spend a Sunday!
