give it a twirl

Short Story: Start your summer off right (even if it’s cold and rainy) and go to where the hippies (and free music) are this weekend at Folklife.

So what if the weather still looks kind of ugly- grab your twirly skirt, don your flannel shirt and get yourself over to Seattle Center this weekend for FolkLife, a FREE festival that celebrates everything good about Seattle May 28-31. Listen to some of the region’s most talented musicians, check out a dance troop and go buy yourself something pretty from one of the artists selling their wares. While you’re at it you can even learn about solar in the Living Green Courtyard, visit the Beer Garden for a local microbrew and get some henna tattoos from a vendor at the Uncommon Marketplace.

No matter where your interests lie, you’ll find something at Folklife that is right up your alley. Not to mention it offers some of the best people-watching this city has to offer. So walk (or bike or bus it), don’t drive, to Folklife today! (Or Saturday, Sunday or Monday. Those days work too.)
